Final Fantasy I&II coming to... Part 2
» Oops. That's what we get for making the logical guess.

As
we reported earlier, Square has shown interest in re-releasing FFI&II again. But contrary to earlier assumptions, the platform the two games will be re-released on is the PSOne.
The two games were previously re-released on the dying Wonderswan Color exclusively in Japan, a platform that never saw the light of day in America. Since the games were originally released on the 8-bit NES, they received graphical overhauls for the 16-bit portable.
The PlayStation versions of the game will include said upgrade along with new FMV, a similar plan to the Final Fantasy IV-VI remakes on the PSX. Though fans may be expecting more, early images of the FMV look up to par with previous remakes.
In addition to a normal release, the games will see a special edition set to include figurines. There will be a monster gallery for each game, displaying enemies and their statistics, along with a picture gallery. No specifics on what this will include, other than... pictures!
The game will be released in Fall 2002 in Japan, and there's no word yet on a U.S. release.
